Welcome to Kōnini School

Kōnini School is a warm and welcoming place where tamariki learn, grow, and
build strong connections. Our unique setting spans 8.5 hectares, with over
half of our grounds made up of beautiful native bush. These surroundings
offer rich opportunities for outdoor learning, environmental education, and
physical activity. Our strong commitment to caring for the environment is
reflected in the close partnership we share with our community. Together,
we live our values of whanaungatanga and kaitiakitanga, nurturing a
deep sense of belonging, responsibility, and respect — for the land, for
learning, and for one another.

We recognise and celebrate the unique strengths each learner brings. Our
aim is to empower tamariki to embrace new challenges, take risks, and
strive towards their goals. Our teaching programmes provide a strong
foundation in core learning areas and are designed to set students up for
success. Alongside this, we place a high value on purposeful and engaging
experiences across the curriculum. The Arts, Science, outdoor learning, and
physical activity are all key parts of the Kōnini experience — enriching
our students’ learning journey and encouraging a love of learning.

We hope our website gives you a sense of what makes Kōnini such a special
place. You’re warmly invited to visit, see our school in action, and
experience for yourself the positive, inclusive environment we offer our
tamariki and whānau.
